7 mistakes of any photographer
If you are a photographer, you have at least seven funny stories that you would rather not remember. Well, yes, it is – as it is human nature to make mistakes, so it is common for the photographer to make mistakes again and again. No matter how pragmatic we are, we still remove under the influence of our sensations, not our heads, which means we regularly break between our heads and hearts, generate internal conflicts, and then we solve them intensely. If we take into account such anti-sciences as sociology and statistics, we will get a confident list of our own bugs and errors that most face. Each of them teaches us something, some temporarily bypasses us, and we meet them in articles like this one, just so that fate would pass us by and go to another photographer to destroy his hard drive.

Read it, and if this has not happened to you, try to avoid it in the future. If there is a negative experience that could replenish our piggy bank, welcome to filling out our new open article. So what to avoid:
Free work and dumping. It’s about work and dumping. If “friends asked”, “relatives called”, etc. – this is not dumping and has nothing to do with work. Cases of kidalov, too, in this case, are not taken into account. A bunch of photographers, especially at first, are dumped in the hope that “later” ”the situation will improve, they will rise and become cool professionals and will cut a lot of money on orders – everything is untrue, there is no easy money, and if you don’t have a name, working with a customer built only on good quality, but it is already impossible without issuing tangible bills. The customers’ excuses that “there is no money now”, “there is no budget”, “we can only pay 2000 rubles for 1000 elements of the online store” are just options for finding a student who is ready to work for a penny, and then it’s an opportunity to squeeze it like lemon, incidentally, a chmyr, that he generally can’t take off, and they do only a favor with this order. Do not know how to value yourself yourself – and others will not. And the point here is not in the formed thinking at all – on the contrary, the right customer always knows that a product (not a photo) is expensive, and he sells his product just like that … while there are a lot of customers looking for loshki for their cheap orders, on which the work, of course, will look cheap. Remember your expenses, arm yourself with a calculator and count.
Unverified settings. The camera, light, portable flash, even the length of the belt – everything matters. If you start shooting in the mode that is selected in the camera, not remembering what it was shot before, it is possible that the first couple of times you will get away with it, but since normal photographers do not shoot in the “auto” mode, you need to check – the camera will not move your brains behind your head, and if the last time in the club you shot at ISO 12800 and the f / 2.8 aperture, and now you’ve gotten into the studio with the camera and shot the model in the studio light, and you may be very surprised, that I had to put the sources at the very minimum and push them away so that it didn’t overexposure, as well as notice “some graininess” in the pictures during post-processing. However, this does not happen at all, and this is just a fantastic extreme – however, if you forget to check the settings before shooting (as well as regularly along the way), without being distracted by checking frames on the screen (this is done only by advertising studio workers with super-professional models that get used to the image in a second), then in the “post” you will find a lot of surprises. The mode dial can turn on the budget device, accidentally press the button yourself or help the children, just forget to change the settings when quickly entering the room from the street or vice versa – there are a lot of errors, and there is one rule: check the settings for any change in the shooting situation, as well as regularly during routine shooting.
Fear. We are all afraid – only idiots and children do not feel fear until a year. However, the naturalness of these sensations should not be misleading – it’s one thing to fear that you accidentally lose photos and make three backups (an absolutely deliberate action), and quite another – to be shy to get a camera in the crowd to take something interesting, to be afraid of gopniks who glamorously pace along the street (a cool sight in itself), approach a stranger girl and offer to make a portrait … there are a lot of options for photo-phobias, but not all of them win. You will not be afraid to defeat your indecision, you will never become the master of the frame, which means you will not remove anything worthy, unless by accident. We photographers are brave people, just differently. Personally, I don’t have the courage to get into the crowd of fascist youths with sharpeners, being armed only with a camera and boots – but this is not my genre either. Climbing closer to the subject, getting involved in the action – this is the task of the photographer, a need that must be met to get a good shot.
